Character: Zim
Series: Invader Zim
Version: After the Christmas special
Age: It wasn’t specified in the series, but he’s probably around—if not over—100.
Gender: Male
Sexuality: In order to answer this, I feel it would be best to use a quote from Zim himself: “INVADERS NEED NO ONE! NO ONE!”
Appearance: In his undisguised state, Zim has a rather insect-like appearance. His skin is a light shade of green and his eyes are large, red and shiny, only dulling when exposed to dangerous waves of stupidity or when dead. His upper teeth are fused together, as are his lower teeth, giving his grin a zipper-like appearance. He has a wormlike, purple tongue and on top of his head is a pair of black antennae. He has no ears or nose.

Zim is angular and extremely short, most likely four feet at the absolute tallest, though that itself may be a stretch. He wears the standard-issue Invader uniform: a red, striped dress shirt with pink striped sleeves, black pants, black gloves, and black boots. On his back is an oval-half-spherical device called a PAK. It is mainly silver with pink polka-dots.

In his ‘disguise’ (if it can even be called that), Zim looks almost exactly the same. The only notable differences are the violet, human looking eyes he gets through his contacts and a black wig in a pompadour style.

Personality: If there were three words one could come up with the second they met with Zim, they would be loud, narcissist, and moron. Whether Zim is feeling particularly passionate, afraid, joyous, angry, or even for no particular reason, he often yells his words, not particularly caring how far away he is from the usually unfortunate recipient. He is extraordinarily self-centered, not caring who gets harmed in whatever ‘mission’ he goes on, as long as it doesn’t end up compromising him or end in the destruction of something useful, shiny, or destructive. In fact, the only real alliance is to the leaders of his planet, the Tallests.

However, Zim is extremely driven to succeed at whatever big goal he has, and will pursue it single-mindedly until his death. The little plots that lead to said goal, on the other hand, often change to Zim’s liking, often to the point where he claims that the end result was indeed his plan all along whether said result was favorable or not.

This approach to his goals is extremely dangerous when accompanied by Zim’s sheer stupidity. While the alien is extremely good with technology, like the rest of his species, he has the common sense of… Well, maybe it’s best to say that if it’s there, it takes up about as much space as the depth of a puddle. With a few exceptions (as in plans that have actually met with success) if Zim’s failures aren’t caused by his malfunctioning robot, GIR, Zim himself is the cause of his downfall.

Abilities/Weaponry: As mentioned above, Zim has extraordinary technical prowess. He can build just about anything he sets his mind to, as long as it can actually be done with the materials provided. However, his greatest asset is his PAK. Contained inside are four mechanical, spidery ‘legs’ that Zim can use to get around quickly. They also have the ability to create a laser force field and a beam of destructive energy. Also contained in the PAK are night vision binoculars/goggles, X-ray goggles (could possibly be the same as the night vision goggles mentioned before), a communications device, and a spare disguise.

Weaknesses: … See personality for majority.

Beyond that, water, certain kinds of meat, and barbecue sauce can be likened to acid to Zim and if his PAK is removed, he will die within ten minutes. In addition, Zim has a love of destruction to the point where he will continue carrying it out even when there is no need for it.

History: Zim was born like most Irkens, ejected from a large glass tube onto the cold floor before having their PAK attached and being shocked alive by a “cold, unfeeling robot arm.”

Zim proceeded throughout life causing rampant destruction wherever he went. When he was working as a scientist (and immediately afterwards) he caused the death of two Tallests, Miyuki and Spork, via an energy absorbing life-form he had created. The two were digested horribly.

When going through training to become an Invader on the planet Devastis, he managed to cause half of the planet to lose power after attacking a vending machine that refused to grant him a snack. This incident led to him being hated and targeted by another Irken, Tak, who missed out on her chance to become an Invader because of this.

A few decades later, during the wide-spread universal invasion plan Operation Impending Doom I, Zim finally got his first mission as an Invader. Unfortunately, he completely blew it by hopping into a front line battle-mech and proceeding to destroy half of his own planet, ignoring his associates’ cries for him to stop.

Due to this terrible event, Zim was then banished to Foodcourtia, a planet with a name that stated its purpose. Zim was reassigned as a fast food worker and worked on the planet for quite some time, eventually escaping just before the Foodening (an event in which the planet became so inundated with people eating there that the gravity became to great to even leave the planet).

Zim’s goal in his escape was to get to planet Conventia (another planet with a name that suited its purpose) where the ceremony to begin Operation Impending Doom II was being held. Zim presented himself to the Tallests Red and Purple, who looked upon him with disdain and annoyance. In order to get him out of their antennae, Purple put together a robot from scrap and various things in his pocket while Red assigned Zim a planet he was sure didn’t even exist.

That planet happened to be Earth. There, Zim encountered his rival/arch-enemy, the paranormal-enthusiast boy Dib, fought against Tak, and learned of Earth’s holiday traditions, albeit through rather odd ways. While going through his usual routine of plotting world domination, however, there was an odd flash of light, and Zim suddenly found himself in a place that was most definitely not Earth.
